The Big Chill Racing Team dominated the opening leg of the 2011 RMSC National Slalom Grand Prix held at the Robinson's Nova Market Parking Lot with Noel Rivera and Dr. Peewee Mendiola taking a one-two finish; it was a dramatic outcome as Rivera snatched the win from Mendiola after trailing all day due to transmission problems.
A last minute repair effort fixed the problem as Rivera clocked a 61.64-second time ahead of Mendiola's 61.82-second time.
DKC Racing Team's Nino Sarte slotted in between, taking home third overall and the best time for the Front-Wheel Drive division with his 63.06-second time. Big Chill Racing's Ted Musngi and Nok Gerochi took fourth and fifth respectively. Taking home the Novice Class win was Hans Christian Melosantos of the Cabanatuan Auto Club Racing Team with a 68.24-second time.
