Two Havoline Drivers in Spotlight
Staff Writer

Caltex-Havoline Racing Team's Jody Coseteng and Oscar Aguilar will be on the spotlight when the 11th and 12th rounds of the SVI Grand Prix erupt at the Subic International Raceway on Sunday (July 13).
Coseteng has a 10-round total of 86 points and is the virtual winner of the centerpiece Super-A category. But the three-time driver of the year will still aim for a victory in the weekend racing extravaganza featuring the country's best drivers.
The multi-titled Coseteng, backed with two strong sponsors namely Caltex Havoline and San Miguel Redhorse, can actually go easy in the last remaining legs of this 14-part series and still be champion as his closest pursuer in Kookie Ramirez is miles behind with a mere 45 points in 10 rounds.
"There is no other recourse but to aim for a win," said Coseteng, who ruled eight of the previous 10 rounds in awesome fashion. "That is the proper thing to do because we're trying to set an example here of treating every race as if it's your last."
Havoline Racing Team captain Aguilar, on the other hand, is on the verge of grabbing the lead in the SVI Challenge Cup Over-all Category with a mere one-point deficit from co-leader Gaby dela Merced and Miko David.
Aguilar, who has 41 points in 10 rounds compared to the 42 of Dela Merced and David, is coming off a double-victory in the National Touring Car Championships series at the Batangas Racing Circuit in Rosario, Batangas Sunday.
Other members of the Havoline Racing team sponsored by Gatorz Precision Eyewear, Nodalo's mufflers, Auto Trend, Hyper Parts and Rota Wheels, and Brembo Brake Disc, distributed by Gold Wing Trading, are Nilo Pazcoguin (Super Saloon A), Dr. Peewee Mendiola (Production C)
"The Havoline Racing Team's early success in the series can greatly be attributed to the hard work and dedication that we put into our craft, plus the oil that the team uses," said product manager Paul Familara, referring to Havoline Energy Synthetic, which has shown its ability in circuit racing extremes.
"The brilliant performance of Jody and Oscar has inspired everyone in the team to strive for excellent performance and further build on what we have already accomplished," added Familara.
Excellent racing R&D for the Havoline Racing Team's All-Toyota Corolla racing cars is provided by the its Japanese consultant and chief mechanic Mr. Takeda.
