WTCC 2014: Tom Chilton and Rob Huff win Beijing Rounds 17 and 18
Chilton won 1st place amidst a long safety-car period while Huff provided the first WTCC win for LADA

British racing drivers Tom Chilton and Rob Huff won pole position at rounds 17 and 18 respectively at the FIA World Touring Car Championship last October 5, 2014 at the Goldenport Park in Beijing China.
Aboard the Chevrolet Cruze of ROAL Motorsport, Tom Chilton surprised everyone during Race 1 where he was able to get the top spot and simply sailed from the lead and was untouched by the other drivers. Even a long safety-car period from lap 3 caused by an accident between Borkovic and Munnich didn't matter to Chilton as it erased his 4-second lead. Frenchman Yvan Muller managed to finish 2nd after overtaking Tarquini while Argentine local and rounds 15 and 16 winner Jose Maria Lopez salvaged 3rd place after being an indirect victim of Chinese driver Ma's tire wall crash.

In Race 2, Rob Huff provided the first win for Russian automaker LADA amidst the drove of red flags that dominated the race. Huff was able to put to good use of the P1 in the reversed grid and kept control of everything. Placed at 2nd is Dutch driver Tim Coronel while at 3rd was French driver Sebastian Loeb.
Jose Maria 'Pechito' Lopez is still the overall leader and was able to increase his lead up to 66 points. Rounds 19 and 20 will resume next weekend and will take place in Shanghai, China.
