Hi im a newbie here... info from TheVeed is very enlightening and educational...  its good and always a pleasure to learn new things from professional people like you guys....

My car fender & bumper was recently hit by a motorcycle and  through another site i discovered Zingoys (owned by Jing), shop specializing in painting works.

I visited his shop in shaw blvd. (parking lot across Star Mall) and I got impressed with his work (A BMW was being fixed at that time). He'll explain to you in detail on what to expect from his work.

Im planning to have my car painted there once I get my insurance claim.

Pag naayos na at nakaipon ng pera magpa detail coding promo naman ako kanila TheVeed..  :)

Yes, maayos gumawa si Jing, personally right now, he's usually the one I recommend when it comes to repainting especially panel repaints. I've yet to hear a bad review from customers in terms of matching the color, grain and finish of the repaired panel.

Question lang po: Do paint shop normally apply a clearcoat over repainted panels?

depends, sa mga tabi-tabi usually no... also, if your car doesn't have clear to begin with (like most candy-red tones), the painter wont (and shouldn't) apply a clear layer but use a pre-mixed clear instead.

Settle things with the painter first, get what you paid for.

I never mentioned I did, as a matter of fact, I stated previously that I have no painting experience.

You better ask guys here who owns paintshops like zinggoy, raymond etc.

hi! a newbie here...
1st post that i read, and it already made quite impression on me...nice post theveed!  :)

anyway, just got a 2nd hand car, so i can now send my 1st car, a honda city, for some paint job. the problem started when it was re-painted in some shop (somewhere near the archbishops' palace...so you'll have an idea) that was accredited by my car insurance. after the paint job, napansin kong hindi pantay ng original color yung pininturahang panel. was hoping that after a few days e papantay ng kulay sa original paint, but it didn't happen. it really didn't bother me naman, kasi as long as maayos takbo ng kotse ko, ok na sa kin...

kaso after a year or so, nag-start nang mag-bubble yung ni-repaint na panel. and that really pissed me!!! hindi na nga pantay yung kulay, bumula pa! mygollygulay!  >:(

e since walang time para mapagawa yung car, kinalawang na. right now, kinain na ng kalawang yung maliit na portion nung panel (left rear panel, dun sa ilalim ng door). tanong ko lang kung mare-remedyuhan pa ba to?  ???

anong insurance kaya ang nag-a-accredit sa zinggoy's? malamang kasi, dun nanaman ako ire-refer ng insurance ko sa shop ng gumawa ng pangit na paint job. e syempre, ndi ko na dun ipapagawa ngayon....

tenks!  ;D

You can always submit a quotation from Zinggoy's and if it's lower than the accredited shop, the insurance company will issue you a check.

between the two, i'd go for the zinc chromate of anzahl. it's more durable and better adhesion compared to the guilder. but if you can spare a few more hundreds, i would advise you to invest on a good anti corrosion paint like the one of dupont  :)

thanks!!!
