17" on Honda City iDSi
« on: May 31, 2006, 06:34:36 PM »
To all iDSi owners out there...Who has tried putting on 17" wheels to their rides? I will be changing my wheels to 205/40/17 this weekend...I know it's gonna be a more bumpy ride, but it's okay with me, but my main concern is the tires rubbing with the rear fenders. I have used 15" since college, I had hartge mags on my sentra SGX, the rubbing sound is kinda annoying and damages the edge of the rear fenders. And my sister's SENTRA ECCS had 15" mags also 5 yrs ago until the time she sold it. I wanna put a "personal touch" to my car by changing his "shoes", a friend is selling a 2wk old set of 17's originally priced at 45k for a much cheaper price, and the deal is kinda irresistable to reject. Thank you  ;)

No need to speed, the thrill is not worth the risk...

One thing that you have to consider is the width and offset of your wheels. For 17" wheels width should be around 7 inches coz medyo makitid yung wheel well ng jazz/city. this should avoid fender rubbing. I think ROTA makes 17" wheels specifically designed for cars such as the jazz/city and other small cars

hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply dude...I would still appreciate other inputs of other AI members/CITY/JAZZ owners with 17's on their baby. I don't know the offset of the wheels I would be getting, but I believe it's one of the new designs of ROTA, it looks like a stock VOLVO magwheels...lots of spokes :) I have visited the ROTA site but it's not there...Maybe you guys could also give me other websites where I could browse. Thanks!  :P

You may be talking about 'Destiny". That's a 17x7 so perfect sa City yan. Another perfect fit would be the WM7

checked out yung ROTA site, parang DESTINY nga yun...I only saw the wheels on my friend's car once and sandaling sandali lang, medyo di ko napagmasdan...how do you determine yung offset? the lower the better? Better in the sense na nakapasok yung mags...Thanks!

Get in touch with alanranch for good Rota deals.  ;)

The higher the offset, the more "pasok" your wheels will be. As I-VTEC suggested, get in touch with alanranch cause he also drives a new City and has changed mags quite a number of times and is an expert with City fitments.

if none would fot nicely, you have your last option, which is folding the rear fender.  ;D
