Is it just me or does the old RX look better than the new one?

not just you man.  I still think the second generation RX/Harrier is among the best designed crossover ever.  Well proportioned all around imo.  The new one is a mess...Its proportions look awkward. And people in a lexus forum i go to also concur.

Welcome Lexus, to RP.  Hope they do well, their cars are a good fit for the Philippine market as they focus on comfort.

Yes, a 228hp (3GR-FE) 3.0 liter V6
http://www.lexus.com.ph/lexus_cars/is_new/is300/specifications/specifications.asp

The IS300 is also sold in other markets like China, Indonesia and the UAE.

The IS250 (4GR-FSE) and IS350 (2GR-FSE) models use direct injection engines.
I don't think Toyota trusts the quality of local fuel, so no direct injection models for now.

Not exactly, Porsche actually owns a portion of VW.
Aside from the platform sharing between the Touareg and Cayenne crosssover SUVs and old models like the 356, Porsches are not VWs.

Porsches are not VW's but VW's are Porsche's.  Dr. Ferdinand Porsche created the VW Beetle in the '30's and now the company that he founded owns VW.

Off-topic: Dr. Ferdinand Porsche was one of the founders of VW, but he only designed the KdF-Wagen (which evolved into the post-war VW Beetle) and some of its WW2 derivatives like the Kubelwagen. I wouldn't call a VW Golf a Porsche.

PS: Porsche increased their stake in VW and now owns more than 50% of of the company, but under German law, they still don't have controlling power.

Thats the outgoing RX, right?
The all-new 2010 Lexus RX just made its world debut recently and will go on sale in the US next month.

yes, I agree. for around 3M, you'll "only" get a 320d or a C200k Avantegarde.

i guess yung sa market ng mga 3, C, A4 and IS medyo dikit dikit parin lahat its a matter of preference na :)

but on the other segments .... like the GS against the E class, 5 series and A6? same price? and the LX against the X5, Porsche Cayenne, Audi q7 and the ML.. the LX is mas mahal pa nga e .. hmm

hey dont get me wrong .. im not a lexus hater ... nagulat lang ako sa price tlaga hehehe thought they would undercut the germans :)

I'm sure Toyota fanboys would love to own a "euro-style" luxury car thats still part of their Toyota family.

the GS460 is in the same price range as the 530d, A6 3.0 TDI, and E280. (it has a V8 vs 6-cylinders on its german rivals) the LS460 undercuts the A8, 7-series, and S-Class. while the LX570's real rival is the Range Rover and Porsche Cayenne. I believe both Range Rover and Cayenne costs upwards of 8M.

the only Lexus model I think is overpriced is the ES350...  :violent5:   I costs almost as much as 2 Camry V6's!  :protest:

Ang tunay na rival ng LX570 ay yung Q7 4.2 FSI at GL450 na both priced at 7.5M Pesos...

BTW the new Lexus RX450 will launched this March and priced at 4,2M Pesos!!

Isn't it the RX350 that they're launching here?

PS: the RX450h is the more expensive hybrid model.
