Sa liit ng Jazz, one would think it will be a real econo-car.  But by accounts, it doesn't offer any better fuel economy than larger compact sedans.

Would you guys say that if your main consideration for buying a car is fuel efficiency, the Vios is better?

let's just wait na mag break in mode na yun jazz namin...kaya siguro hindi pa achieve yun fuel consumption as raymond said....

kung yun crv mo ay same km/l sa jazz ko as you qouted my post...1st of all can you tell us kung ano na odometer ng crv mo? and finish na ba ang break in period????ako metro drive lang eh...lagi ako nasa traffic....

still breaking in my 1.5CVT (less than 1000 km right now)

But i took it to NLEX and drove to Subic and back on my 2nd day... 40kms pa lang nasa Odometer ko, ahahaha.

On a full tank, I made 8.8+- kms to a liter (although nagpapa-gas ako when my gas meter goes to 1/4 full, so I might have made 9km/liter for the highway drive.

Right now, nasa 8km/liter yung consumption ko.

Hope it gets better after the break-in period...

The reason makulet ako sa Jazz fuel economy is because I love the car (especially its interior) and I'm considering getting one for its daily practicality (gas savings).

I could justify purchasing this car if it gives significant gas savings.  The thing is I'm surprised and disappointed the difference in mileage versus the CRV is so small - kasi di ko na majustify sa sarili ko ang purchase.

CRV ko is nasa 36,000 km na.  I measured its consumption twice when it was new, after the 1st 1000km oilchange.  I got 8.2 and then 7.8.

BTW yung daily route ko is BF Paranaque to Fort Bonifacio via SLEX & C5.  Ma-traffic from BF all the way to Bicutan then it opens up all the way to Fort Boni so you can say yung readings ko are mixed city/highway.

Hi,

Mileage of your Jazz would really depend on your foot. the same thing goes for other cars.

For normal city driving, the best that you can get from your jazz is below 11km/liter... from this mileage, sobrang alalay ka na sa accelerator, no revs beyond 2k rpm, and aircon setting is a bit on the low end. S drive lang pag cvt, and no manual overides.

8 km/liter with hataw is very good na as Bri have mentioned. I did a lot of hataw one time and that was the worst mileage i got, around 8.2 km/liter. with an ordinary 1.6 1.5 na vtec car, mga 6 lang.

Here's the fun part. go for a long drive, say clark or kahit going south, maintain a sub 2k rpm which will bring you to around 80 kph. you'll be surprised to see an 18 or a 20 km/liter in your computation.

I tried leaving the car in idle for more than 8 hours, my fuel guage just moved around 2 bars. =) pwede sya gamiting office  ;D

ok ill just update here malapit na ako mag 1000km...as of now my odo reading is around 880kms...maybe early next week ill bring it sa casa na...but i will use my own synthetic oil...or siguro lang iba iba lang tayo ng driving habit...to tell you the truth minsan i shift around 2.5k-3k rpm depende sa wide ng road and kung meron chance "humataw" but usually 1.5k-2k rpm ako mag shift

or

you just wait nalang for other posters that their jazz is stock i mean...kasi ako nagpalit na ng mags to 16inch so meron din effect especially when braking

and also

if you'll notice jao,me and darkhalf malapit yun km/l namin nasa 8km ang range and same pa kami new car (1.5vtec) not sa breakin period...yun nga lang manual yun sa akin

I rev about 1.5 to 2... and only go to 2.5 when I am overtaking.  Nag 3 ata ako on the highway, overtaking the tricycles.  :)

So will see pa talaga.  Right now, yung current mileage ko of 8km/liter is due to the times I've been going to and from office... lagi traffic.  So laging alternate brake and accelerate.  Not really gas-efficient.  :D

OT: hey bri, kwento ko lang something.  When I was buying my Jazz, walang Silver available in ANY Honda branch.  Ang readily available was the Blue, which was what my agent was trying to press on me.  Nabanggit ko kay Raymond na I was deciding whether to wait for the silver or go ahead and get the blue.  Then he tells me that you got the silver, but wanted the blue.  Kunin ko daw yung blue tapos swap daw tayo!   ;D  hehehe.  but i luckily got the silver within 2 weeks.

Di ba cars sold/released recently, to a certain extent, have been broken in already?

Yes, I agree. I spoke with an S.A. about this. Recently sold cars are already broken in when they leave the dealership.

Like most jazz owners here, am really head over heals with my new "baby" ... that's why I've been reading all the posts here in this thread (very informative) and I've been applying what I've learned. Will keep you posted with the results.

The S.A. also said that the CVT's are more fuel efficient during long drives compared to their M/T variants. On the other hand, the M/T's are more fuel efficient during "stop-go" traffic.

Yes, to a certain extent. Sa Honda they have this test track for this. So iikot-ikot nung mga tiga-planta iyong kotse mo for about 40 km.

okay, as a result, would there be any significant changes in fuel consumption from the time the car was brought out of the dealership to the time it has already been broken in?
