We are Peter and Mila and retired from the UK to settle here in 2006.  In my day I spent more time under the bonnet or car than inside it, because trips to the garage were over budget. I do miss the engine tuning and playing with timing settings but doing it to the modern car is not that straightforward with fuel injection and warranties go out the window within 3 years or ownership.

The modern engine compartment looks far more complicated than it used to be, had a Triumph Herald once where the whole bonnet would hinge forward like a lorry and it was so easy to get to anything. We hide it all these days maybe because the reliability has improved tremendously ?? ....or do the garage want the money for maintenance work  :thumbsup:
