how much did you get this for? if I remember correctly, it's much cheaper than the equivalent Nikon or Canon.  ::)

I got it for 40th credit card. For cash I could have gotten it lower at 38th. It would have been cheaper in Hong Kong (around 30th) but I felt safer buying it locally in case  the camera has problems later on. Well it's comparably priced with the Canon 450D but the camera has in body image stabilization and a stainless steel body with 60 points of weather sealing which is a great feature for an entry level DSLR.

Pentax's KxxxD series are the best bang for the buck of any camera... Weathersealing, in-cam IS, etc... Grab a M42 to PK mount adapter and enjoy using cheap M42 lenses (they'll be automatically stabilized and you get trap-focus AF confirm as well).

congrats, nakuha ka na din pala ng photography bug hehehe.  The picture quality of the K200D is similar to the K20D which is very impressive.  Here's how it stacked up to the 450D and the Olympus E520 (which is also a very capable camera... sorry biased sa 4/3rds mount hehehe)

Thanks Quincy! Actually this photography bug is my wife's fault.  We bought a Canon G9 to prepare for when she gives birth in October. Using the G9 got me hooked and wanting something with more power so that's when I thought of getting a DSLR. The Olympus 520 is quite a good camera too and affordable at that!
