Question: if it's bi-xenon, does it mean that it has 4 ballasts? Or the high beam is always a halogen one?
...and we 'drive' our cars on the 'parkway' and 'park' our cars on the 'driveway'...

Bi-xenon means the low beam and high beam are both xenon type and normally 4 ballasts are used.

but in this case, the hi/low projector is aka bi-xenon.  which means the projector has a moveable shield within the projector which triggers when you hit the hibeam.  so you still use the same bulb and the same ballast, and the hi beam mechanism is in the projector itself.

nice beam shots zoids! looks like you got the cut off just right and ang lakas ng hi beam! na testing mo na sa dark country road yan? looks like I really need to go bixenon na as well hehe

2 bulbs lang. so 2 ballasts din. as Bri g mentioned there is this moveable part. It is the cut-off shield (it is composed of 2 movable parts like 2 switch blades. The video link below shows only a single movable cutoff shield ) which splits and forms a V instead of a Z (or so low beam pattern) thus giving a higher beam pattern. it actuates as you switch back and to high beam.

nice work zoids. i have acura mdx projectors myself and im planning to retrofit into the foglights of mazda3. do u think its easier to retrofit into the foglight area? the circumference of the mdx  projectors and the oem foglight are the same. thanks. :)

zoids

hi jjm328,

why not retrofit it instead on your headlights? . . . it will be too low already if you retro it in your fog light, besides if you install it on your headlights, i don't think you'll still need those fog lights  :violent5:

we alrdy have projectors in our headlights as stock. someone did a retrofit in the usa in his foglight using the same but i dont have any idea on how to. do u think its gonna be easier compared as to doing it in the headlight as u did? tnx dude.

bri g

retrofiting the foglight will be the same amount of work I think or maybe even harder space permiting.  you still need to open up the foglights, align and mount the projector, find a shroud (the hardest part hehe) and seal them up :)

its really fun driving it at night.. strong beam.. wide beam pattern.. at lastly.. retrofits make those pnp hids look like halogens  :wav:
