Actually my SAFC2 started to act up when I got to Speedlab. That's why I considered to try out the Unichip. The dyno tuning was done at Autoplus since the dyno at Speedlab was undergoing maintenance. Even with Pacho helping out Ferman, my car ran like crap. When Autoplus put back the SAFC2 my car immediately got its old power back.

I guess it's hit or miss depending on the Unichip's compatibility/history with different engine makes/types.

tnx so much bro  nway, for my last question, did they give you a full refund when you returned the item to them?

Im planning to chip my '05 Nissan Patrol 3.0 4X2 M/T .. Im choosing between DPChip & UNICHIP..

DPChip: http://www.dpchip.com/
- 60K  5 years warranty
UNICHIP: http://www.unichip.us/
- cheaper 30K 1 year warranty
(the fastest Santa Fe 2.2 here in the phils is equipped with UNICHIP .. dynoed at 175hp and 330lbs of torque)

what do you recemmend?  :evil5:
Wasn't too convinced with the guy selling the DPChip at the recent 2nd PIMS. I asked him about installation and tuning, and he was saying something about them installing the DPChip and setting it to the highest possible setting that supposedly won't blow your engine. According to him, they, by installing the DPC, give you 9 settings to play around with, with the turn of the dial. They set it to 9 and let you drive off. Then you will have to observe whether this setting number 9 will work best for your ride, or whether you have to "ease up" and lower the setting. I asked about whether they'd dyno the car to find out the best possible setting. Di na daw. Kaya niyo na daw yun. Madali lang daw. Off the bat, they promise you 20% increase in power and torque, but they can't prove it. It takes 15 minutes to install one on a Fortuner, and 2 hours for a Patrol/Prado. P55k daw dapat ang introductory price for Fortuner, and 65k for the Patrol/Prado.

Heard from another source, DPChip is calibrated for stock ECU settings. So if you change your intake, exhaust or what have you, then DPChip won't be able to maximize your new mods. Haven't confirmed this yet though. But for my P60K, I'd throw it in the direction of the Unichip + Alcohol injection. The P12-15K I didn't spend on the install, assuming the Unichip = P30K + Alcohol injection = P15-18K, will be enough to buy me alcohol or methanol and put a smile on my face. Best part is, I'll have the dyno read outs to prove it.

30K? Wouldn't an EcuTek reflash do you better, an additional 20whp supposedly, like on a turbocharged car.

Haven't done research on EcuTek. Who's the local dealer for it?

ECUTek used to be 65th for Subarus, but with the advent of free OPEN ECU (for Subarus and Evo's only) software I don't think it's that desirable anymore.

Conan: Are you also using an upgraded turbine or your stock turbine?

The Unichip can give up to that much, depending on the tune of the car... or more, if it's a turbocharged car.

Upgraded turbo and injectors.

after reading this thread, ill just stick to my safc-ii with my upgraded turbo, injectors, pipings, maf sensor and bigger pistons..... ill just get more power somewhere else later i guess...... like a more bigger turbo.  ;D

head of operations smx convention center :)

the SAFC IS GOOD, used it myself before, pero mas ok pa rin if you can get something with more tuning options, specifically ignition timing. tuning your AF ratio can only do so much for performance...

the emanage ultimate is a great option for those who dont want to replace their stock box.

ako gamit ko power FC. loyal to apex'i, kahit sarado na....hehehe. ;D

malayo parin capabilities ng standalone ecus like power fc, ecutek, crome, etc than the piggybacks like emanage, afc's, unichip.
