our innova g is a 2005 model probably 1 of the first here in bacolod city. its vvti a/t. about 3 years after we bought it. i was notified by toyota that the rear axle needed  to be changed as it was made of a less stronger materials that wouldn't withstand extreme driving conditions. after the parts were available i took our innova for  the repair but never really saw them change it. as customers werent allowed to go to the back of their shop. 3 months after the oil seal leaked from the rear left differential i suppose due to the work done.  took it back to toyota again to get it fixed. in the afternoon driving home from to toyota the rear right wheel was wobbling. turned out who ever worked on it didnt tighten the lug nuts after.
