1. doesn't really matter what brand you use every oil change as long as its of good quality and bought from a reputable outlet. but for uniformity's sake, try using one brand and stick to it.

2. if you have the budget for a tune-up whenever the oil is changed, why not. though a tune-up after every other oil change is prudent.

3. decreasing oil level means the engine has a leak somewhere, internal or external and not caused by a delayed tune-up. sir vivo is right, white smoke means coolant is entering the combustion chamber meaning either the head, the gasket or both.

4. to bring back the engine almost to its original performance and capacity, you have to have it overhauled and reconditioned. a top overhaul may create a marked improvement in engine response. otherwise, piously maintain it, repair at once even the smallest of defects and just leave the engine on its own course of usable mileage.

PS : Additives Pro or Con? Con.

^ spot on.

on no. 3.: may also be that the pcv valve needs to be checked, esp. if oil level mysteriously gets low (there is/are no tailpipe smoke, no oil leaks, no oil mixing with coolant, etc)

no need for a tuneup every oil change unless the budget allows. it shouldn't be too expensive naman.

thanks po mga bossing.  i've used shell helix 20w-50 for the last two oil change so i guess i'll stick to that one nlng.  the spark plug, however, wasn't replaced for almost a year now and this week i'll be replacing them with bosch platinum (after the oil change and tune up of course).  and yes, no additives muna thanks!

+1, don't waste your money on oil additives.

agree
sayang ang pera. kung may benefits man, hindi namin napapansin.
use good oil to begin with, forget the additives
