I wonder how it will fair against the rest of the grid this F1 season...  ::)

Lotus F1's driver line-up:

Jarno Trulli
Heikki Kovalainen
Fairuz Fauzy

Team Principal: Tony Fernandez
Chief Technical Officer: Mike Gascoyne

Top 4 teams, Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes.  I think only Williams, Force India, Sauber, Torro Rosso and Renault have a chance.  The Virgin car broke its front wing after only a few laps of testing.    ::)

The car is conspicuous by the limited number of sponsor's decals on it. The ones attached are for Tune Group, which is Tony Fernandez's Air Asia, and Naza;     a nascent car assembler better  known for being an importer of exotics into Malaysia. This probably means most of its funding is by governement.  Good for em'. Malaysia Boleh !   :cheer: Does anybody know if Fauzi has a race seat or is he testing ?

F1 story:

<< One of the biggest stories was the debut of the Lotus. Fairuz Fauzy was entrusted with the T127 and completed a healthy 76 laps despite not having power-assisted steering. His best lap time was over nine seconds off the pace, but team boss Tony Fernandes was happy with its progress and congratulated his test driver. The team is hoping to fit power steering overnight for Heikki Kovalainen's first run in the car tomorrow.

"To arrive here and complete 76 laps is fantastic," said Fauzy. "Today was a big challenge, both to complete the 300kms I need for the Super Licence [the licence required to race in F1], and with no power steering it was difficult to drive in the dry, not so bad in the wet, so I was driving a bit conservatively but I am just very pleased."

Virgin's testing woes continued as the team only managed to complete 10 laps due to a hydraulic problem and was even further off the pace than Lotus. Last week the team missed a day's testing because of a lack of spare parts. It is in need of better luck over the coming days.>>

US F1 looks like they won't make it to the grid.

hmmm.... based on pre-season testing results, looks like virgin and lotus would be trading places at the bottom of the timesheets!  ::)
