Guys ano masasabi nyo sa camry na ito in terms of:

1: What is the engine? Engine variants?
2. Fuel Consumption EDSA Hravy Traffic/ hiway/ normal city traffic A/T and M/T, which is preferred? AT or MT?
3. Suspension parts availability/ maintenance
4. Engine parts availability/maintenance, maselan ba to like 4age na need ng specialist mechanic or shop? Or marami naman nakaka alam gumawa?
5. Ok with unleaded? Suggested fuel RON
6. Electronics, is it sensitive and parts are not that available? how about reliability? ex. ecu
7. Overall score for this car

**Will use the car mostly weekends pang mall lang, will use only at the office during occassions (pag may mga kailangan dalhin) & rainy days, will use the car twice a month going to inlaws in bulacan. So basically car is not a daily driven car.

I've been eying one since price is almost same with my ae111, probably will be the replacement of my rolla. Need a comfy and roomy car. I have plans to use mazda 6 2.4li but parts reliability wise this camry is still a toyota and its 2.2li.

ang masasabi ko jan eh... hindi sya bagay sa yo. for me, malaking factor yung match kayo ng kotse eh... imagine mo yung sarili mo driving one of those... on my mind, napi-picture ko, hindi bagay.

but then again, that's just my opinion.

as for the technicalities, panalo yan sa comfort and cabin space. malamig tingnan yung loob due to the good interior fabric and ergonomics. it also has a good engine.

bosstl

jerry... bakit camry?

indi na sya daddy's car e. lolo's car na sya. hehehe. ayaw mo i-consider ang accord? in terms of comfort, ang sarap dalhin ang accord e. mas may bling bling factor din. consumption wise, i've been hearing it's around 6km/l yung matic. pero yung ride quality is uber comfy. :)

say my name...booosss...tiii...eeeelll

@bosstl: i agree with the accord yan ang service car ko dati nung nasa honda pa ako nagwowork but parts are same with the odyssey and we all know mas mataas maintenance ng honda, with the accord model higher than 1996-97 madami bad feedback same with the civic dimension body nung nasa honda pa ako work. Ok rin naman camry you can also put low offset rims and rarely lang ako makakita ng camry na naka ayos.

eto rare

hehehehe

i'd go for the camry. iba talaga kapag executive car. the ride is amazing. although of it's generation the cefiro has the best ride.

Ang maganda sa Camry..kasya ang 3sge.. hehe

Good thing Jerry started this topic...I'm considering the A32 Cefiro as my comfort/ executive car.....is it really ok? Aircon? Maintenance cost and everything? ganda kasi pag hella flush concept....hehe

I know, it sucks up a lot of gas but sanay na tayo dyan with our cars. I just wanna get the most of my limited  resources.

orido130

diba parang maliit naman masyado ang 3sge for the camry? should we be talking 6-bangers pag para dito na?

the 1998 camry doesn't have a v6 engine. only the a32 cefiro came out locally with the V6 VQ20DE.

I recently acquired tito kookie's cefiro, and i must say that it is an amazing car. i can't hear a damn thing inside the car with the radio off, AC off, and the engine running. I've already mistakenly "started" the car when the engine was already running. It's that quiet. even when you are running on the road you can't hear the road noise.

in cabin features are all there. auto-climate control, power mirrors (no fold though), electronically adjustable headlamps (height of beam), light for the vanity mirror on the passenger sun visor (para sa mga manyak diyan, plus ito sa mga babaeng pasahero hahaha), key immoblilizer (cant use a duplicate to start the car), electronic release for fuel tank and trunk. and did i mention the space? there's so much space in the car. seats are comfortable.

A/T has 3 modes: Sport, normal and "snow" mode.

regarding the FC: well, this is what im currently trying to solve since the VQ20DE is known to bust it's knock sensor after 80k-100k kms. im currently hitting 5.5km-6km/l city driving. my friends can hit 7km/l city driving and 9-10km/l on the hway.

regarding parts: suspension components are VERY easy to come by same with other typical consumables. typical 555 brand, same price more or less as corollas. bushings are available as replacements din. now when we talk about engine overhauling kit.. welll.. 12k OEM. hehe it is a V6. but so far the only leak i have on my engine is the two valve covers, and the crank pulley oil seal. that's it.

iba talaga kapag "V" engine. the response is extremely smooth, and very torquey. although i wish the A/T was a 5-speed rather than a 4-Speed, it still has ample power naman to get you going.

so far, i've already changed oil, flushed my A/T (8 liters of ATF! hahaha!), changed fuel filter (superrrr sikip grabe sakit sa kamay), cleaned TB, cleaned MAF sensor, changed air filter, fixed suspension.

next on the list: change outer axle boots, overhaul front calipers, bleed brakes, and install new pads, fix oil leaks. haha long list, but it's nice to be fixing a car again. nawalan ako ng gana sa pajero e.

hahaha kung sabagay, pwede rin siguro dito mag 2jzge? hohoho kaso its not rwd. :(

@matt: wowo naka executive car ka na hehehehe, wala bang naka manual tranny sa mga a32? naisip ko kase parang mas makakadagdag ng km/li kung naka m/t. ;)
