I usually just rely on Google Maps for streets but not directions, because it's usually off.

Afaik ... Garmin with roadguide.ph map is the best combination.

With Waze, I think GPS devices are slowly getting useless.

Waze is the most reliable. Google just bought it two months ago and I think google maps, etc are already benefitting from it

Would still prefer a GPS Device that locks directly to a Satellite rather than being cellsite dependent.

I have a GARMIN NUVI 50, how much will it cost me to download Philippine map?  Can you suggest the best store where I can download the map apart from downloading it online.
