Haha from the looks Dept. The current crv has the edge. You need to find someone who's driven both for a length of time to get an unbiased opinion. Personally, recent honda lineup tend to use more and more cheaper feeling interior material. All engines underwhelm in all aspects compared to the competition

Definitly the Santa Fe. Honda have been sleeping on their laurels lately, and not much improvement or development have taken place with the CRV. Hyundai on the other hand have stormed ahead. And the Santa Fe is not only a significant improvement from past models. It is also simply a very good vehicle by any standards.

It might be hard for some people to get used to. But today in some cases, the koreans are making the best car, while the traditional japanese carmarkers are making the cheaper and worse alternative. And this is indeed one such case.

For starters the Santa Fe has a very powerfull and economical 2,2 liter diesel engine. While the CRV fundamentally use the same 2,0 and 2,5 liter petrol engines, it did a decade ago.
