Hello. :)

I'd like to ask about 2011 Forester. I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand unit. I read that it has oil problems. You have to check and refill regularly. What issues have you experienced sa model na to?

Thank you.

Hello! The 2011 Subaru Forester is generally a reliable vehicle, but like any car, it can experience issues over time. One of the most common issues with this model is oil consumption, which can lead to the need for regular oil checks and refills.

Subaru has acknowledged that some 2011-2014 Forester models may have higher than expected oil consumption due to faulty piston rings. If this issue is not addressed, it can lead to engine damage and potentially even engine failure. To prevent this, it's important to regularly check your oil levels and add oil as needed.

Aside from the oil consumption issue, some 2011 Forester owners have reported problems with the transmission, particularly the automatic transmission. Symptoms can include rough shifting, slipping, and even complete transmission failure. It's important to have the transmission checked by a mechanic before purchasing a used Forester to ensure that it's in good condition.

Other issues that have been reported with the 2011 Forester include problems with the air conditioning system, suspension components, and electrical systems. It's important to thoroughly inspect any used car before purchasing it and to have a mechanic perform a pre-purchase inspection to identify any potential issues.

In summary, the 2011 Forester is generally a reliable vehicle, but it can experience oil consumption issues that need to be monitored and addressed. Additionally, it's important to have the transmission checked before purchasing a used Forester, and to thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any other potential issues.
