In my experience, the kickpanel mounted speakers gave the best imaging. It equalized the pathlengths as compared to traditional locations.

Custom fiberglass kickpods run around P5000 and up a pair.

P3000 budget for seps will not give you the best SQ. But coming from stock, there will be improvement. Targa will fit that budget.

If you buy affordable seps, better not listen to better SQ setups. For sure you will know what you are missing.

As many of us have found out, if you are serious about SQ then saving up for the high ends stuff is actually cheaper than spending your money on affordable stuff only to replace them because you're missing something. I should know, I experimented a lot. If I add up my past expenditure, it cost just as much as my setup now. Sayang.

Yes sir Gino, thank you for that. But I think okay na muna ako sa budget setup. Setup ko na lang kung ano yung kaya ng budget ko :)

We'll let you know.  Bili ako ng seps nextweek. THanks again.

yakuini,

i'd have to say that both locations (door panel or kickpods) have their pros and cons. as gino pointed out earlier, "kickpanel mounted speakers gave the best imaging..." but they are costly to make. while door panel installed speakers are the usual way to go, there are "tricks" you can use to make your speakers sound sweeter: sound deadening and sealing of your doors.
If I were you, I'd look at myself in the mirror and ask, "Now what can I add to my system today?"

Yes Sir havoc, thanks. I now know that kick pod is better but my decision is being dictated by my budget so I'll go with door panel. I do not consider myself an audiophile so I am sure this setup will satisfy my needs.

I'll take note of your advice. I'll use sound deadening if my budget fits. Thanks again :)

By the way, do you think a 6.5 mid bass speaker will fit in the Lancer box type door panel?

Are there any smaller mid bass in the market with average price?

Gino

5 3/8" seps or thereabouts is the smallest you should go to get some midbass. Bigger is often times better performers when it comes to midbass.

But realistically, you will need a sub to get full bass sound. I know you are on a budget, but most cheaper seps are short on midbass to begin with. You simply cannot expect adequate impact from them alone. The Targa line of 10" or 12" subs are very affordable.

Thanks, but I won't stop the upgrade after purchasing the seps. 12" sub (targa) and amp (fenton 41000) is part of my planned setup.

And since you mentioned sub, if you noticed a box type trunk, the spare tire is located exactly at the back of the backseat. It is screwed there in standing position.

Where do you think is the best place to position the sub box? On one side using a 10" sub? Or both side using 8" sub on each side?

And which of my option/idea will sound better? (theorotically, that is)

yukuini,

If I were you, I'd look at myself in the mirror and ask, "Now what can I add to my system today?"

Yakuini

Thanks again.
