V8s in the JGTC?

I've just read news that Toyota's JGTC Supras will be using the 3UZ-FE 4.3L and 5UZ-FE 5.0 V8 engines instead of the 3SGTE.

I wonder if Toyota's change of engines used are due to rule changes for this year's JGTC.



Also, I wonder if Nissan and Honda would follow suit.
