Share how long it takes for you to hit the triple-digit zone! Also include your car, plus the modifications if any. Thanks :)

According to JP Tuason, karts can reach 100kph in 3 secs.  I havnt really timed it, but I guess its true.  Anybody can confirm this? Alucard?  Kasi when your there na, ndi mo na namamalayan 100kph ka na pala.  Pero sa real car, ndi ko pa alam....ehehe ;D

Is that CART you're talking about? If karts can do 100 in 3 ticks, then they should lose control. These things are so light that it can be hurled by the wind when driven so fast. Plus, there is no engine small enough to fit the kart while delivering that much power. Personally, I don't think so. F1 cars reach triple digits in just less than 2.5 seconds, and the next quickest track racers are rather distant already.

P.S. Can anyone out there with an SiR or Blacktop post their times? Thanks. :D

A kart's 0-100 kph time is usually around 4 to 5 secs, depending on the engine and gearing used.

About karts being light and losing control, yes they are light, but they are extremely low in the ground and are aerodynamic, so they cannot really be "hurled by the wind when being driven fast". And it doesn't take a very powerful engine for karts to go fast, a 100cc engine with maybe 15 or 20hp and proper gearing should let the kart reach 100kph in around 5 sec.

SIRs are quoted to do 0-100kph in 7.7 secs.
In a world of compromise, some don't.

Yes Squalistic its true that Karts can reach up to those speeds.  Maybe you should try one.(not the ones at speedzone)  Try the KTs or the ICAs at carmona.  The Gs are alot higher than in a car. ;D  And according to JP (who has tried karts, saloon cars to F3 cars) this is the closest to the F1 experience.  (im not saying they're as fast)  I belive the top end speed of a kart is at 120kph? Am i right Benj?   But im straying out of the topic.... ;D

Altima, what lynx do you use? GSI na modified or Ghia?

squalastic

I stand corrected; karts grip the road much better than road cars. But with the acceleration figures you gave, I should say that these things are really dangerous; practically no protection at all! ::)

And about the Lynx, both the GSi and Ghia have the same engines, so no difference in performance.

actually, its not that dangerous....kasi mababa yung center of gravity nya kaya flipping over is minimal (pero it does happen).  Its like riding a motorcycle, with more Gs.  Anyway, about the Lynx, they also came out with a 1.3liter na GSI, kaya i was asking.  I have a1.6 kasi and id like to know where he got headers for his car.

hey guys...medyo OT ito...pero since were on the topic...more or less...has anyone or know anyone who has driven a car with a 4AGE 16v installed? Ano ang 0-100 rating niya? According to the books, ang stock eh around 7-8 secs. can anyone confirm this? I'm going to install on one of my project cars soon, gusto ko lang malaman ang potential ng engine and "compare notes" if possible. I'm thinking of modifying it kung kulang but kung pwede stock bakit hindi. or maybe add a couple of weber 40's ;D Thanks in advance!

Anyway...para maging on-topic...sorry folks medyo matagal na akong di humahataw ng auto eh...mostly because i drive automatics nowadays...nakakatamad na kasi yung metro manila traffic eh :P

As far as I can remember....I was able to go 0-100 in a Galant GTI 2.0 DOHC circa 1995 sa may white plains pa yun....in about 9-10 seconds or so...yung friend ko yung nagmemeasure eh...dunno if it was accurate...and ewan ko kung mabigat yung auto or mabagal lang talaga akong magdrive ;D
