Ganda nung Sundance Flamenco ni James Bobchak.  It's all accoustic guitar with a softly rocking pace.

I like Anna Caram's Postcards from Rio, a jazzy muscle relaxant from Chesky.

How about Lex Vandykes Electric Guitar hits.  OK din.

But my favorite has to be Ry Cooder's Buena Vista Social Club, soul-stirring music from hitherto unknown Cuban music legends.

I have a copy of the Buena Vista CD.  Kaaliw.  Sarap pakinggan sa beach.  San ba nakakabili nung Sundance Flamenco?  Thanks!

We have to be clear on what we mean by an "SQ song".  Is it simply pleasant or easy songs to listen to, or are they songs used to evaluate the accuracy of your system?

If your purpose of listening to such songs is to evauate the SQ or your system, then the more accurate decription/name should be "reference material".  Napapansin ko, most of the lists here are nice and easy songs, not SQ evaluation material.
Most the guys here have been listing nice easy-listening music without knowing how these recordings sound in real life.  How will you be able to say that your system has good SQ and is accurate if you do not know what the live performance sounds like?

The whole point in having reference material is to test if your system can reproduce the live recording as closely and as accurately as possible.  Kahit na gaanong kapangit ng boses ng singer o kahit wala sa tono ang guitar, basta your system reproduced the sound and localization (imaging) of the recording accurately, yan and importante.

So the most important thing in reference material:  know your recording and have a clear memory of the actual live performance.  Your system should reproduce the live performance as closely as possible.  Listening to Claire Marlo CDs is not proper SQ evaluation if you do not know how or what Claire Marlo or her band sounds like in real life.

So the best reference material in my opinion: punta ka sa studio and record your own voice, burn it sa CD, then listen to it in your system.  If your system is good, you should sound exactly like yourself nomatter how bad or good your voice is.  of course, the recording equipment should be good as well.

Another good reference material  is the '95 IASCA reference CD.  The booklet of this CD contains diagrams of the instruments and singer positions for each track, good for evaluating if your system can reproduce the instrument localization/imaging properly.  To evaluate frequency response naman, the "Pink Noise" tracks if this CD (yung parang static) is used in conjunction with an RTA;  The more even your RTA curve is for all frequencies, the more accurate the frequency reponse of your system is.

sorry mojako, i don't have one.  nakahiram lang ako nito a few years ago.

favorite tuning tracks ko doon yung 3 voices (lift, right, center), and yung nagpapatugtog ng snare drum na naglalakad around the room  :)
