stock setting pa lang nung bc yung gamit ko. so far so good (i think). havent really driven the car hard. may pasundot sundot ng konti pag maluwag. im almost sure i'll increase damping pag track na.

yung sa autox... ewan ko talaga. as in 0 knowledge hehehe. eto ang bahala na si batman :)

updates from yesterday's circuit showdown 1st leg.

we got there around 800am. registered, took out stuff from the car, added 5 clicks on the coilies and did like 8 practice laps, trying to re-learn driving on track after what 2 years. tried different combinations with braking, engine braking. i think this is where i cooked my brakes.

qualifying proper, added 5 more clicks. my fastest time was 2.20, which turned out to be my fastest for the day (i felt like i was faster during the practice laps). returning to the pit, i really felt my brakes has lesser bite. upon inspection of the brake discs, it seems like i really cooked the thing. dark coloration on 1/4 of the disc, cmiiw but i assume that that means only 1/4 of the pads is making contact on the disc. also parang mas lubog na yung preno.

for the time attack proper, i was hoping i can do better but i know my brakes are not at its best. i tried squeezing the brakes a little harder kaso takot ako i might loose control of the car. and a mitsu loosing its bumper on the chicane didnt help when you're on your 1st hot lap! so im braking a lot earlier, didnt squeeze the throttle much. in the end i got consistent 2.29 :) hehhehe i think that's good enough for last place :)

lastly, im not that happy with my tires. i can hear them screeching in some turns, and i feel that im sliding in some. i hope a little tweak in tire pressure will be ok n.. in the end, i definitely need practice! brake pads and change oil on my to do list this coming week. :)

on a brighter note, the coilies are freaking good! :)

nice feedback chef!

tire screaching is good. if you don't want to hear tire screeching on the limit, use slicks. you'll barely hear the screach haha but then suddenly lose control if you go beyond it's traction limit.

anyway, you'll have to find the proper chassis set up with your coilovers to match your tires. stiffening your dampers won't do you much good if you can't adjust your spring rate. you have to match your damper setting, spring rate and tires all together. and of course, alignment.

glad you had fun, bro :) i'll try joining you on your next practice leg or round 2 ng CIS. most probably by that time, top speed ko sa highway 60kph lang. haha pahitch nlang! :P

congratulations on your first CIS round, bro :) more power!

@rt.. thanks :)

@nemo... actually im ok with the tire screeching. my concern is actually more on i am hitting the traction limit of the tires agad. konti lang naman yung screech but i think 5 or 10km/h more and that's it diba. i dont have the balls (yet) to push it a little more :)

i stiffened the dampers because my left rear tire's making contact with the fender when im into the 2nd corner. actually dun lang naman sya tumatama. tupi na lang ng konti siguro yung fender then i'll try a different setting.

you can see the times already at the cs website :)

tire screeching per se isn't really an accurate indication of whether or not you are nearing the traction limit or even at it. best way is to read tire temperatures versus scrub radius ;)

Papa Chris, are you joining the 2nd Leg? Trying to analyze my budget. I think I can only afford to join every other leg.  This "sport" is expensive!!!  :crybaby2:
Anyway, for me, I just followed Matt's advise... don't kill myself racing. Was still so scared of the RBend where I totalled my front last year. 2.20.967 best qualifying time. 20.20.973 best time attack.  Bagal. But then I wouldn't even dare join in the first place if not for our trackdays last year ;D
Can we just practice this April?   ;D

as of now, yes i am joining the 2nd round. i've talked to matt and we might go to clark a week before the 2nd leg to practice.  :) well at least that's the plan :)

buti nga ikaw you're consistent. i slowed down by 9sec during the time attack na. felt my brakes are not at its best nung qualifying, lalo na nung time attack. better safe hehehe :)

good thing your car is ok :)
