Bead Lock

I think both... if you can afford it.  But as far as i know it is not DOT approve in US for High-way use, due to it's difficulty in wheel balancing.

Yes, except for the ones equipped on the civilian Hummers (which can be had with optional beadlocks), most , if not all, aftermarket beadlocks aren't U.S. DOT approved.

However, many off-roaders still run them on the street.

Nope even off road Jhon q, remember that those devices where designed for the non thinking just drive,  devil may care grunt. who has a whole company level motorpool to back him up. I said "SPECIAL FORCES" who are on their own out there just like us regular off-roaders. I have the magazine of his interview. ;D
