As we know 4D56 engine was the most  popular engine mounted on several mitsu vehicles released here in the Phils.  What is the available surplus diesel engines here in the Phils coming from Japan aside from 4M40? The bigger the better as long as it will fit on the 2nd Gen pajero.

Salamat.....

Newer Pajero in Japan is equipped with 4M41, i dont know if it's already available here.

Raymond

Masyado pang bago ang 4M41 to be found in surplus shops ... IMHO .. :)

You may want to try the Canter's engines such as 4D32, 4D33, 4D34 ... but I'm not sure if they'll bolt-on to the Paj without major body mods.

Diba mga 24v yun, meron ba nun ng 12v

rustbucket

Makakaya kaya ng front suspension ng Pajero ang bigat ng canter na makina? Baka meron ng mga V6 na Pajero engines sa mga surplus shops.

tebats

try to contact woodfire of tsikot.com.

he swapped a 4m40 to his 2nd gen pajero.

i think you need the whole engine and transmission in order to accomplish this. yun lang ang alam ko e  ;D

I think this type of engine is already common on surplus engine dealers.

The 4d56 in the driver's Pajero is already turbocharged.

I doubt if the engines from the Canter would make a good swap.  The 4d32 to 4d34 has less power than the turbo 4m40 and are designed to work with very low gearing (5.43 to 6.17).  Also, I doubt if these forward-control application engines would mate to the with the stock Pajero transmission.

The 4m40 would be the best engine to swap-in.

In this case, 4M40 has additional 25 Hp compared to 4d56.
