i'm torn with what brakepads should i replace with my current one. due na ren kasi yung brakepads ko and track day is nearing so i would like to your opinions what would be efficient for daily + track use..
would bendix be sufficient for this?
Choosing brake pads for daily & track use is always a compromise and each pad/brand is different from the other. Also, you get what you pay for...
Stock pads are best for daily use, obviously.
Next is a "sport" pad then the "racing pad". This varies with temperature range and the material used.
Temp range - larger or stickier tires, longer braking distance (braking from 4th gear to 1st gear, for example), heavier car, all can increase brake pad temp
Brake pad material depends on the temp range. However, the higher the rating, harder the compound so meaning, more wear on the brake disk.
So if you use sport or race pads for the street, everyday, you might wear out your brake disks faster than normal. Not to mention that some race pads do not grip well when cold.
Best compromise is to run stock pads for daily use and change to race pads for trackdays, just keeping in mind, you will need to bed the pads and heat them up before hot-lapping.
Don't like Bendix. It wears out your disks more than stock pads yet is not as good as a race pad. Just my opinion. Ferodo and Winmax are my favorites.
