I found out this morning that our Trooper's right H4 headlamp bulb was already busted. so I decided to get a set of H4 Philips XtremePower bulbs to replace it. I only found out today that the Trooper's OEM bulb was also Philips!  :D

anyway, I tested my headlights with the right side installed with XP. it was noticeably brighter than the stock (working) H4 headlight on the left!

btw, I got my H4 XP at Roadstar The Fort for 1500.

I wasn't able to take a pic of it when it was still using stock bulbs. (I didn't have by DSLR with me that time!  :crybaby2:)

anyway, I'll take a pic of it with its headlights on soon!  ;)

a sure place to get them is at AutoSport, MegaMall. but they're becoming more widely available now. I was able to get a pair for my Trooper at Roadstar, The Fort. I think some shops in Banawe carry them already.  ;)

AutoSport didn't put a discount on Xp on the weekend sale in Megamall. But the good thing is they are offering HB4 XPs already.

regarding the philips xp bulb upgrade, is there really a big improvement from stock? and is it comparable to those cheap HIDs?

if you look at them head-on, they look like stock. they don't glare. (unlike plug n play HID's)  but its light is brighter and thrown farther than stock! ;)  they're very good in the rain and in dark-tinted cars!

by the way, is the philips xp light throw and brightness comparable to a 100/90watts all weather bulb?

its color is comparable to a stock bulb. but its brightness is comparable to a higher wattage bulb. (the XP uses 55W, same as stock! ;))

heheh. itama lang natin... 60W low / 55W high

Yes. I was glad to get it in the dmax. With xp heavy rain fall in the province (and without any streetlight) in the dark of the night is bright enough to give you driving confidence. I don't want to overly exaggerate but you know how bright the fog lights (halogen) cast it's short beam just in front of the car? It seems that bright with the low beams of the xp.
