Motul & Gas engine owners & Professionals
« on: May 08, 2012, 05:50:40 AM »
To: Motul & Gas engine users/owners and professionals,

Question sir/mam

which is better for my Theta II tucson

Motul H-Tech 100   5w-30? or 10w-40?

Primary purpose is to lessen the noise upon cold start.

Secondary purpose is to have a better FC.

TIA  :D

Try the H-tech 100 Plus 5w30. That has a newer API SN rating.

Yes follow the advice of Brent, htech 100 plus 5w-30 motul.

I've used the following in my theta II powered Tucson (in order):

Oem factory fill unknown oil  - pretty noisy upon start up, smooth when warm (this is due to the micro metals floating around from break-in)
Honda oil 10w-30 mineral  -  a bit of noise upon start up, very smooth when warm
Zic 10w-40 semi-synthetic - quiet on start up but noisy when warm, maybe its too thick

I am now at 6,000kms and just filled it with Mobil1 0w-40 fully synthetic from the US (this oil sheers down to a 5w-30), a bit of noise on start up, 1-2 seconds but smoothest vs the above when warm

Let me know your feedback with Motul 5w-30 SN api

A bit OT, what is your FC? I usually get 8.7km/l - 9 km /l (alabang to ortigas route)

City driving (house to office).

5.5-6km/li lang ako.. Average sa odo ko 10km/hr  .. Moderate to heavy traffic (most of the time heavy traffic), stop and go situation and short driving 19kms back and forth  (severe condtion, according sa manual I need to use fully synthetic oil).  :(

highway driving Slex
15km/li.. 90-120km/hr.. (most of the time hataw po)  ;)

Pasig to Quezon province back and forth,

12km/li .. light to moderate traffic.. average sa odo 38km/hr.. 6hrs running yung engine.
-way better FC than my previous car CRV gen 2.  :guns:

By the way sir ilan liters of oil ang nilalagay sa Theta engine Tucson niyo?
4.1Liters sa specs, according naman sa SA 5liters daw?

If the manual says 4.1-liters with filter, then that's only what is consumed. Bubuohin nila yan tapos bebenta ulit. Which is directly stealing from customers. As to why some dealers tolerate this practice is beyond me.

Nirecommend sayo was H-TECH 100 not H-TECH 100 Plus. Plus only has 5w30 and 0w20. You can go as per your manual recommends. Plus being rated higher, the Plus should perform better. The normal H-TECH 100 is cheaper nga lang at Php500 SRP.

:violent1:

next PMS ko, request ko na kung pwede magobserve while snservice yung kotse ko, at least alam ko na pinalitan yung oil filter, air filter and yung motul mismo yung nilagay, baka kasi itabi lang nila and HGMO ulit yung gamitin.

may case na kasi (other forum) na hindi or nakalimutan palitan yung oil filter niya. eh same dealer pa naman kami.  :violent1:

akala ko 5w-30, yun pala 5w-20 for better FC.

pero pwede rin gamitin yung sa Motul which is API-SL (another option if hindi available yung API-SM. Also naka indicate sa manual). so, walang mavovoid na warranty if ever gamitin ko yung motul  :)
