best way nga is to keep on replacing the oil but it's also the most expensive way to flush.

it works ok naman but other stuff 1/3rd the price also works so if you're not caught up in all of the hype of the name then use the cheaper but equally decent product nalang.

you won't know if you need it or not unless you check the engine and see if there is dirt.

Hi, Sir, just to share, you can also opt for high detergent na oil, tapos you immedietly do a change oil, after 5000 km, :)

hope this helps

Delo Gold Mutigrade engine oil:
-Grade: 15W-40
-Type: mineral / Group II (highly refined )
-Application: Diesel
-API Rating: CH-4 / SL

Tama ba?

Sir Emomg3,

Pwede rin ba ito gamitin sa gasoline engine? Does SL Rating tells it so na pwede siya sa gasoline engine?
Every change oil at 500 kms interval of flushing, palit din oil filter din ba?

Have read somewhere , some use diesel engine oil for flushing but not as far as 500 kms. so 4 times change would mean 2,000 km run on this kind of oil

In API CH-4 / SL, API is American Petroleum Institute, C is for compression ignition ( meaning diesel engines ), H is the quality ( CF or CG are lower than CH ), S is for spark ignition ( gasoline engines ) L is also quality ( SM rated are more advanced than SL ). Though I think they changed the C / S to Service and Commercial now. So technically, this oil is primarily intended for diesels.

Since every engine oil is rated as C / S, you can use it interchangeably in diesel or gasoline engines. Catch phrases such as "specially formulated for so and sos" are marketing strategies. Though you may definitely want the highest for your gasoline engine, the highest level I think is SM. For diesels, its CJ-4. ( 4 means four-stroke )

im not sure if adding flushing oil every change oil is good for our engines. i always used to have my oil change at shell gas station nearby and the flushing oil is inclusive in thier complete change oil package.

i just wanna know if it is necessary to use flushing oil for every change oil just to remove all the deposits and residues?

some says it's bad for our engines.

please enlighten me.

thanks!

It's not that necessary. But it's best to have it flushed first, before you perform an actual oil change. :)

That's surprising since Shell has its own branded flushing oil. As long as the flush is not "solvent" based you don't have to worry about your oil seals, but if it is solvent based then you should avoid using it.

agree. i go to shell for my oil change and once a year i go through engine flushing. no problems with my engine so far. oil-based ang flushing agent nila, not detergent-based

normally once the metal inside goes black you won't be able to make it silver again without a lot of work.

Better to engine flush the engine now before changing to a new oil to ensure extending the new  oils life plus get rid of the soot, dirt and carbon deposits formed due to the stop and go traffic and pollution.

Liqui Moly has Engine Flush Plus which is composed of Detergents and Viscosity downsizer. Not harmful solvents that would damage the engine.
