SAPULPA, Okla. - A convicted rapist has been sentenced to life in prison for spitting on a police officer.

Creek County Associate District Judge April Sellers White followed the recommendation of a jury for the maximum sentence against John C. Marquez under a law that makes it a felony to place bodily fluids on law enforcement officers.

That rapist was already convicted to serve a long sentence.  Spitting on a sworn officer aggravated his case and just moved his sentence a notch up to "life in prison."

Justice is hard in conservative U.S. states to preserve way of life and maintain low crime rates.  Just compare Federal crime stats between conservative states like Kansas, Oklahoma, etc. to more liberal states like Cali and New Jersey.

guilt of an accused is decided by a group of people that is called a jury. these people are picked from a group of people from a community that are called for jury duty. everybody is called to fulfill this civic duty except on certain instances. you have to take into consideration the educational background, personal biases, religious background and social background of these people. a jury in california could theoretically make a decision thats different from one made by a jury thats from the bible belt...

Correct... A jury of your peers decides on guilt but the judge has the last say when it comes to sentencing details.

Damn that convict will never forgive himself for that. When you're a felon, you practically have diminished rights.

Tignan nyo si Jinggoy - he's out on bail. As you know he's involved in the Erap plunder case. Early this week binatukan niya si Richard Gomez in a public basketball game. Pag kinasuhan ni Gomez iyan, his ass is back in the slammer.
