I bet the file format can't be read by the player. Is it MP3 ready? try burning something of the original format (.wav).

Some older head units can be picky about the color of the dye used in CD-Rs. Try buying ones that use a silver/gold dye (like a normal cd) if you have trouble reading blue or green dyes.

also burn at the slowest speed setting that your burner can use. ive noticed my car's cd player and the one at my set-up at home can't read anything burned at the highest speed settings and anything above the lowest two and between the top speeds are error prone (skips, some tracks end midway, etc).

if it's not cd-r ready it won't read but as what have mentioned burining it to the slowest speed might help. but for my former hu, it didn't help. or better yet buy original cd's

Tsong baka kasi mp3 format yung burned discs mo? Ang alam ko yung nakakabit s Carnival ay hindi nakakabasa ng mp3 format. Try mo yung standard n nabibili s mga music store yung konti lang tracks recorded.

agree with Protege Mania.  use 24x speed or slower.

I don't think so. My stock LXI HU can read copied cds. Its the type of cd you use and as mentioned from the previous post, burn speed should be set to the slowest.

Yep, I don't think so either. Our '04 Altis and my '06 Civic can read fake and burned CDs/MP3s.

Problem lang is that for some reason, there are specific MP3 files that my Civic's stock HU can't read. But I tried it on another brand of car, kaya naman.

That's right.. make sure that the file is compatible with your player first.. and everything will be alright.. :)
