Sound Focus Equalizer (SFEQ): The SFEQ feature is made to enhance the soundstage in the front of the vehicle by increasing the clarity of vocals and instruments. There are two primary SFEQ modes ("FRT1" and "FRT2"), and there is a "CUSTOM" mode. The "FRT1" mode boosts the treble on the front outputs while boosting the bass on the rear outputs; when this mode is selected, treble adjustments affect the front channels only, and bass adjustments affect only the rear channels. The "FRT2" mode boosts the treble and bass on the front outputs while boosting only the bass on the rear outputs; when this mode is selected, treble adjustments affect the front channels only, and bass adjustments affect the front and rear channels. You may select "HI" or "LOW" operation for the "FRT1" and "FRT2" modes; the "HI" setting of each mode provides a more pronounced effect than the "LOW" setting. If you adjust the bass or treble setting while an SFEQ mode is on, the adjustment is applied to the selected SFEQ mode and that setting is kept in memory as the "CUSTOM" SFEQ mode. The SFEQ feature also includes a seating position setting that helps tailor the sound to where people are sitting in the vehicle.

Bass and Treble Settings: When the "CUSTOM" Easy EQ curve is selected and EQ-EX is turned on, you can adjust bass and treble settings.

Note: If the SFEQ has been set to FRT1, bass adjustment affects only the rear output. If the SFEQ has been set to FRT1 or FRT2, treble adjustment affects only the front output.

Quakeman,

What's the purpose of FIE?

If I'm not mistaken it's stands for Front Image Enhancement. There are some old Pioneer stereo that has this feature, when you turn it on you will notice that the music is faded in front and frequencies are boosted for clarity/sq  ;D

You will also notice that the rear speakers will play only lower frequencies. FIE is a Low Pass Filter that will only let Lower frequencies through. My old HU had that feature, when you turn it on, nawawala yung "kalansing" ng rear speakers. ;)
