i seem to recall someone had his car syno-tyuned and the low end turned out to be too rich....:(

i think its a good idea to street-tune and then dyno it for top end fine tuning and to get your ratings. but thats just the humble opinion of one man.....:)

Tama ka, pero I would just use the dyno to see what the ratings would be (just to see if the car has any improvement assuming you did a initial run). Hindi realistic yun conditions being offered by the dyno, the fans they use can't even support the actual wind speed when the car is on the road.

Raise the boost instead of rev limit. I've read of so many damaged engines due to lifters breaking off despite having rocker arm stoppers.

ummm...
let me get this straight...
so its not that useful to tune on the dyno...
instead, its better to tune on the street???
isn't that a bit dangerous???
aren't dynos supposed to simulate different conditions so the tuner can get the best set up for the car?
sorry... just confused now... ???

It's really up to the end user to determine which is the best method for your car. There are pro's and con's to both tuning methods. I've been happy so far with dyno tuning on my car from the start.

I think the best way would be a combination of dyno tune and street tune. If you don't mind a lot of wires being tap in your car, a data logger would be great, but the initial set up is such a hassle to do. Plan to do this on our ride when ever I get the car running again.

i used to be a staunch supporter of just having dyno tuning. then we had our silvia street tuned and it was a whole different ballgame na. i don't think the midrange and part throttle response would be the same if we didn't spend all the time doing the partial throttle runs on the highway.

if you use a dyno where you can go part throttle (and has 4wd capabilities) then by all means have it tuned there. but realize that especially on subarus, you do not get the proper airflow over the intercooler which will probably cause your a/f readings to be different than when you are on the road and your scoop is working.

i think whatever floats your boat is the way to go basta you feel happy with the power gains afterwards :)

thanks for all your input...
I guess to bring out the real potential of the car...
it would be best to add street tuning to the dyno tuning... :D
hmmm... from the looks of it... I think the safest place to street tune is the skyway... ;D

It's too short, normally it's done on NLEX, cause you have to frequently go to the side of the road to enter adjustments to the fuel/timing map.

not really....they tuned my power fc over a 2- day period (they can only tune at  night)

i agrree with migs and drew. there is no way that blowers can recreate the air volume. it really should be a combo of both, imo.

yeah, on nlex it won't take too long. tagal lang with leo's kasi it's harder to navigate through the power fc's menus.
