Oil in my Spark plug Tips and car wont start, Honda Civic EG
« on: March 17, 2011, 03:54:21 PM »
Hello guys,

I would just like to ask if why am I having oil in spark plug tips (I found out this morning). And my car wont start. (Honda civic Eg 95, ph12 engine carbt -type)
My valve cover gasket needs replacement, is this the reason? Or is there any other else?
I started idling rough a week ago by the way... but today it wont start, thats when I found out I have oil on my spark plug tips (number 1 and 2)

Thanks, I really need some advice... ???

The oil may have leaked from the worn out oil seals on the valve cover.

Try also to check if your pcv valve is clogged or defective. A clogged pcv valve may cause internal engine pressure to rise and shoot oil on your plugs.

+1 ^^^ you could  try re-applying thin coat of silicone  gasket pero kung talagang gastado na yung sparkplug oil seals lulusot at lulusot parin oil dun... pero kunyari pag napalitan mo na lahat ng bago tapos ganun pa din observe mo kung burning oil ka na

oil on the tip (electrode) won't come from the busted sparkplug seals. that will cause the body to be wet but not the electrode.

if the electrode is wet, it's bad valve seals or piston rings at fault most of the time.
