Since their entry into the market a few years back, ChengLong has been a popular choice for heavy-duty trucks in the province. But in order to cater to the increasing needs of their customers, StoneBrothers Incorporated, the official distributor of ChengLong in the Philippines, has launched two new truck models in the country called the L3 and the M3.
Starting with the ChengLong L3, it is the brand’s new light-duty truck. While it is classified as a light-duty truck, it certainly looks bigger than those from competitor brands. Powering it is ChengLong’s 3.8-liter Euro-V diesel engine which produces 160 horsepower and 550 Nm torque. The chassis of the L3 is 17 feet (5,186mm) long and has a loading capacity of 15 tons. The L3 is available in various configurations, allowing it to meet the demands of different customers.
Aside from the L3, the medium-duty M3 was also introduced. The M3 is available both as the M3R and the M3L variants. Both are powered by a 6.8-liter Euro-V diesel engine which has a total output of 200 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Compared to the L3, the chassis of the M3R is 5 feet (1,524 mm) longer. Meanwhile, the M3L is almost double the length measuring in at 32 feet (9,753 mm). Similar to the L3, the M3R and M3L are available in numerous body styles including dropside, closed van, and wing van.
In order to showcase that ChengLong trucks are of quality, the organizers even hit the side of one of their dump trucks with a sledgehammer. Even with repeated hits, the tipper body did not have any dent. Instead, only paint chips were seen as signs of visible damage.
Both the L3 and M3 trucks are now available for order as well as their latest heavy duty trucks. You may also visit the ChengLong dealership along EDSA to see the trucks in the metal.
