PHP 3.6 million will get you the all-electric Foton Tornado 3.6 EV
Foton has just become the first brand in the country to launch an electric truck for customers. This comes after the company officially revealed the Tornado 3.6 EV at the 2023 Foton Big Show today at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Revealed alongside the Thunder 4x4, the new EV is based on the regular Tornado albeit replacing turbo-diesel power for battery electric power. The Foton Tornado 3.6 EV is powered by the iBlue ET3 with 81 kWh dual LiFePO4 battery packs on both flanks of the chassis and benefits from a 540V architecture, it can deliver 80 hp to 154 hp peak boost with a peak torque of 300 Nm. It can go as fast as 90 km/h.
Foton says it can up to 208 kilometers on a full charge using global WLTP standards. It can charge as quickly as 2 hours with a fast DC charger and 12 hours with the portable AC wall outlet charger from 20% to full.
The new truck measures 5,960 mm long, 1,950 mm wide, and 2,260 mm tall; with a 3,360 mm wheelbase.
With instantaneous torque available at the ready, the all-electric Tornado 3.6 EV makes hauling cargo easy. And since it runs on pure electric power, there are fewer moving parts and fewer components to maintain. In addition, the Tornado 3.6 EV is immune to fluctuating fuel prices thanks to its all-electric powertrain.
Want to see it for yourself? Those interested to get a closer look can see it at the 2023 Foton Big Show which will run until Sunday, February 12. The event is open to the public daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and admission is free at the World Trade Center.
The Tornado 3.6 EV is available for PHP 3,600,000 in cab & chassis form. It comes with a 5-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty.
