The third best-selling truck brand in the Philippines continues to provide businesess with mobility solutions. Just recently, Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) was chosen by J&T Express to provide them the necessary vehicles for their cargo delivery business.
A total of 130 units of various Foton trucks were purchased by J&T Express. The fleet is composed of 60 units of Tornado 2E E4, 30 units of the Tornado M4.2C and 40 units of the Gratour TM.
“For those planning to start a business, first, you have to know what you want, and J&T Express is very lucky because Foton has exactly what we are looking for.” said Zoe Chi, J&T Express Brand Director during the turnover ceremony at the FMPI Assembly Plant in Clark, Pampanga.
The Gratour TM serves as Foton's first-ever cab-over truck in their Gratour line. This workhorse is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder that puts out 110 PS at 6000 rpm along with 142 Nm of torque at 3000 - 4200 rpm. It is capable of seating 14 passengers thanks to its side-facing seats which can also be folded to provide additional cargo space for long or big loads.
On the other hand, the light duty Tornado 2E E4 F-Van has a payload capacity up to 2,000 kilograms and is powered by a turbocharged diesel engine that produces 280 Nm of torque.
Last but not the least is the Tornado M4.2C which gets its power from a 3.8-liter turbo-diesel inline-six that produces over 170 PS and can generate up to 600 Nm of torque. It also has a high- strength steel chassis that enables higher freight capacity and better stability under heavy load.
“With our products, we guarantee that also the J&T Express delivery drivers will also be welcomed with a slew of safety and security features that make each journey comfortable and convenient – while assuring owners of a multifunctional workhorse that is also friendly to those driving it,” said Rommel Sytin, FMPI president.
