The Philippine International Motor Show opened its doors this past Wednesday. As with every show that the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) puts up every other year, there is certainly something for everyone. That being said, Tata Motors Philippines has decided to join this year's PIMS. Their passenger vehicles weren't the focus, though, as they headlined three Euro IV compliant trucks in a bid to cater to the Filipinos' needs for commercial vehicles.

At the center of their display is the Tata Super Ace Mint. While being rather small, the versatile truck has a 1-ton payload and is powered by a 1.4-liter DiCor turbo diesel engine. The Euro IV-compliant mill churns out 71 PS and 140 Nm of torque. Three different variants of the Super Ace Mint were shown off, reiterating its flexibility towards different carrier needs. There's the Passenger Van, which is ideal for passengers and cargo, the Aluminum Van which is geared towards the needs of the FMCG, E-Commerce, and F&B industries, and the Class 1 Modern Jeepney, which as the name states, was designed to meet the requirements of the country's PUJ Modernization Program.

Next in line is the Tata SFC 407. This truck is meant for various business applications and comes in multiple body types, namely as a passenger van, drop side load, aluminum van, and refrigerator van. A 3L DiCor engine with 85PS powers the SFC.

For the light truck segment, Tata brought out the Ultra 814. This 6-wheel business utility vehicle has a gross vehicle weight of 8,750 kg and has two wheelbase options available. A stronger 3.0-liter engine with 140 PS and 360 Nm of torque powers the Ultra 814 which can be customized as dump truck, a wing van, a boom crane, or even a self-loader. Of the three trucks on display, the Ultra 814 has set new benchmarks in features with first in class offering such as tubeless tyres, ECR 29 crash test cabin, standard anti-lock brakes and HVAC.
