Modify your Jimny the easy way with PartsPro.PH
There are many ways to modify a ride, but the process, however, can be complicated.
Sometimes it involves endless research. Sometimes it means ordering parts from far places overseas. Sometimes you have to visit numerous shops and garages. And given the current situation, that last one is not exactly advisable.
There is a simpler way: you can log on to PartsPro.PH.
This homegrown online auto parts and accessories superstore has many options for many different cars or even SUVs. And you can do all the ordering from the convenience of your own home.
Take this Suzuki Jimny, a mini 4x4 that is undeniably one of the most popular on the market. The Jimny you're looking at has been decked out by PartsPro.PH with many of the parts they have in stock. And they gave it a name: Project Roadrunner.
So what exactly makes this Jimny different? From the outset, the changes aren't so obvious. The Jimny is already a handsome little SUV, so they didn't have to do too much to make it look better. That's why the alterations weren't obvious unless you look closely at that Kenstyle lip spoiler.
Many of the changes on the outside are functional and serve a specific purpose. PartsPro.PH installed a pair of PIAA LP 270 lights; these have a long throw for greatly improved night time driving. The spare tire was deleted, and the spot has been fitted with a PPR RaceFiber cover. The paint finish is protected by a nanoceramic coating done by James Car Care.
Yes, PartsPro.PH just made a few subtle enhancements that complement the look, not change it completely. The most major upgrade are the wheels: this Jimny rolls on 16-inch Braid Winrace T wheels wearing BFGoodrich Advantage T/A tires for enhanced handling and street performance. Project Roadrunner also rides on a beefier suspension set up that uses ST XA coilovers.
Pop open the door, and you'll find that PartsPro.PH didn't make too many alterations, and that's fine. What they did change, however, all had a purpose. The mats, for instance, are the deep dish 3D type from Hippo Techmat, while the windows are all fitted with Sunbloc Ultimate so as to beat even the most intense heat.
The magic with Project Roadrunner is the audio system. Instead of the stock audio unit, this Jimny gets a far more advanced Growl Android touchscreen audio head unit. But not only did they swap out the audio unit, but they also gave it a huge upgrade in audio quality.
This Jimny comes fitted with PartsPro.PH's own PartsPro ValueTech Car Audio Package. This set means that it has a Nakamichi powered subwoofer under the seat, a matching Nakamichi DSP Amplifier with time alignment, and a pair of Nakamichi NS-QT25 tweeters mounted via using PartsPro.PH's custom pods.
The audio system drives a pair of Sony 3-way 6.5-inch XS-FB163E speakers, as well as a pair of Sony 3-way 5.25-inch XS-GTF1339 speakers. The whole system is complemented by a set of Nakamichi sound deadening mats so you get more music, less outside noise.
And don't worry when it comes to performance: PartsPro.PH has Project Roadrunner covered. While they didn't go wild with the mods, the Jimny has a few nice tricks up its sleeve. The air filter for the 1.5-liter K15 engine has been swapped out for a higher flow Greddy filter. But perhaps the most interesting upgrade is the throttle unit: it comes with a DTE Pedalbox throttle controller. That means you can alter how quickly the engine responds from your smartphone.
That means you can overtake other cars even more easily and give other cars a friendly Project Roadrunner beep beep with the nice Mitsuba Air Bullet horns as you pass by.
To finish off Project Roadrunner, PartsPro.PH put on a special decal set to give the Jimny that unique look. The decals are inspired by PartsPro.PH's motorsport activities with the official PartsPro Racing team which competes in the Toyota Vios Cup, Formula V1, Super Sprint, FlatOut Race Series (FORS), Philippine GT, Philippine Endurance Challenge (PEC), and now the Radical Cup.
