Dante's business involves picking up and hauling hundreds of shoe boxes, shirts, and even skateboard decks, especially whenever there's a skate event or a big release for an exclusive pair of shoes. With the third-row seats fully folded flat, it opens up 550 liters of cargo space for objects up to 43 inches long and 40 inches wide. You can also fold the second-row seats, to get an additional 253 liters of space and increase cargo length to 68 inches.

Efficiency for everyday

For starters, the Ertiga Hybrid's body frame is built on the proven Heartect platform. Using strong ultra-high tensile steel assures Dante of its safety, while the lightweight construction gives the MPV good fuel efficiency, plus better ride quality and handling.

The Ertiga Hybrid is also now an SHVS, or a Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki. Under the hood is the K15B that makes 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque, which is now assisted by an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) that charges a 12-volt lithium-ion hybrid battery. What the ISG basically does is give the engine a power boost when accelerating from a standstill, which reduces the engine load and keeps the RPMs low.

The EASS or the Engine Auto Start-Stop System enables the Ertiga Hybrid to shut down its engine when you come to a full stop. Instead of wasting fuel during idling, the EASS means you're not burning any fuel at all. When it's time to get going again, the ISG restarts the engine and you can go.

These nifty features make the Ertiga Hybrid more efficient in the high fuel consumption aspects of driving: idling and accelerating. When Suzuki conducted a city fuel economy test, the Ertiga Hybrid achieved 12.54 kilometers per liter - a 7.6% improvement over the non-hybrid Ertiga.
