Wagon-style BMW 3 Series debuts on June 1st, 2023

Right before the holidays last year, BMW distributor SMC Asia Cars Distributor Corp. president Spencer Yu officially confirmed that they will be launching the 3 Series Touring.

That's right, the wagon version of the BMW's popular sedan is set to arrive soon. This marks the first time in a long while that the Bavarian automaker will offer a different body style apart from the four-door saloon and the now-discontinued GT fastback body style.

But how soon can we expect the 2023 3 Series Touring to make it to the Philippines? We won't have to wait too long as BMW is set to launch it next month. Thanks to an invite they sent out not too long ago, the 3 Series Touring will be arriving in the country on June 1st, 2023.

No exact details yet have been revealed by BMW. However, it's highly likely to be based on the recent facelift released last year. That means we can expect redesigned LED headlights and kidney grille which give it a more attractive look. The rear, on the other hand, could get tweaked LED taillights and a restyled bumper for that extra flair.

Inside, the 3 Series Touring for the Philippines will most likely feature the Live Cockpit Plus system. It will have a pair of displays greeting drivers and passengers inside the wagon. The first is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster while the other is a 14.9-inch touchscreen powered by the latest iDrive system.

Other additional features that will most likely be available include Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, satellite navigation, a three-zone climate control, power-adjustable seats, a power tailgate, and full leather upholstery.

Under the hood, the PH-spec 3 Series Touring could get the same engine as the BMW 318i Sport we recently reviewed. Despite its nomenclature, the 318i comes with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that puts out 156 PS between 4500 – 6500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1300 – 4300 rpm. Power goes through an 8-speed automatic transmission.

With June 1 just several weeks away, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any new information about the BMW 3 Series Touring.
