2023 Mitsubishi Delica Mini is one cute glamp mobile

Just in time for Delica's 55th anniversary

We at AutoIndustriya.com firmly believe that Kei cars do make sense in the country, and this latest example from Mitsubishi definitely adds to our wishlist.

With more and more nature-loving people escaping the hustle and bustle of city life, the 2023 Mitsubishi Delica Mini fits right at home in the urban landscape with its diminutive size but is also capable of going off the beaten path.

Previewed in Ash Green Metallic, the Delica Mini is a Kei minivan with an electrified powertrain and all-wheel drive. Mitsubishi has not yet released its technical specifications, but it's likely to have a 658cc three-cylinder turbo engine working with an electric motor and a CVT, putting out 63 PS as per Japanese Kei car regulations.

Interestingly, the Delica Mini looks more like a pre-dynamic shield-faced Delica D5 that was shot with a shrink ray, as it has single semi-circular shaped LED headlights and not the typical split headlight design as seen on other vehicles like the Xpander. If anything, the headlights resemble that of the newest Land Rover Defender.

The lower part of the minivan including areas around the wheel arches has been painted in black, matching the color of the roof and pillars for a two-tone look. Similar to what Mitsubishi has done to the Xpander Cross, silver-painted faux skid plates and roof rails were fitted to make the minivan look more rugged.

The Mitsubishi Delica Mini is slated to have its debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon which will take place in January 2023, coinciding with the 55th anniversary of the Delica nameplate.
