Last week, GWM revealed the official photos and initial details of the 2026 Tank 300. Not only is the 4x4 bigger in every aspect, but it's also packing more technologies, while still keeping the 4x4 capability of its predecessor.

Now, GWM has revealed all the details of the latest Tank 300 PHEV, and boy, is it packing a long list of features and technologies. Starting with the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, it gets a 2.0L turbocharged inline-four that's available in two guises: Hi4-T and the top-of-the-line Hi4-Z.

The Hi4-T comes with a single front electric motor, a 37.1 kWh battery pack, and the aforementioned 2.0L turbo under the hood. This gives the vehicle a combined system output of 310 kW or 421 PS and a generous 750 Nm of torque. On battery power alone, the Tank 300 Hi4-T can do up to 105 km, based on the WLTC cycle. Meanwhile, its combined system range is rated at 913 km. Power is sent to the wheels via a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

Next up is the range-topping Hi4-Z, which gets dual electric motors, a bigger 59.6 kWh battery pack, and a 2.0L turbo inline-four. The result is a total system output of 560 kW or 761 PS and a monstrous 1,195 Nm of torque. With just battery power, GWM claims the Tank 300 Hi4-Z can cover up to 200 km, based on the WLTC cycle. Last but not least, its total system range is listed at 1,122 km. Instead of a torque converter automatic, the Hi4-Z gets a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Despite being a PHEV, the 2026 Tank 300 can still cover any terrain with ease thanks to its intelligent 4WD system. It comes with the brand's All-Terrain Control and comes with various modes like 2H, 4H, 4L, 4H Snow, 4H Mud, 4H Sand, 4L Rock, and more. The Hi4-Z also benefits from an intelligent all-terrain system, which can automatically adjust drivertrain systems, depending on off-road conditions. Keep in mind, however, that the Hi4-T version has a part-time 4WD system, while the Hi4-Z comes with the intelligent 4WD system.

Other key features include locking differentials for the center and rear, tank turn capability, chassis underbody protection, a standard roof rack, tow hooks, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that's rated up to 6 kW.

With a total power output of 1,040W and a maximum single-channel power of 300W, it can power up several devices with ease, such as spotlights, power winches, deployable drones, and more.

Meanwhile, the center of the dashboard comes with a huge 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Not only does it run on the latest Coffee OS, but it also controls most of the vehicle's in-car features and amenities. From wireless Android Auto to wireless Apple CarPlay to satellite navigation, as well as other onboard features, the new 15.6-inch screen comes loaded with tech.

There's still no word if GWM plans to offer the 2026 Tank 300 PHEV in the Philippines. But with plug-in hybrid 4x4s becoming more popular than ever, GWM Philippines could capitalize on this boom to attract customers who want a plug-in hybrid 4x4 that can double as a generator while in the great outdoors.
