That’s right, Kia’s new Grand Utility Vehicle will officially debut in the Philippine market two weeks from now. Now on its fourth generation, the minivan adopts a more SUV-like appearance and is marginally bigger and roomier than its predecessor.

The exact specifications and features of the 2022 Carnival are still a mystery. But Kia did say that it will be available with features such as a power sliding rear doors, an automated sunroof, a power tailgate, ottomans for the second-row seats, and touchscreen infotainment complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On higher-grade versions, it might also come with tanned leather seats, a 360-degree around-view camera system, as well as intelligent safety features like a blind-spot monitor, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Under the hood, the PH-spec Carnival will likely use a 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine derived from the Kia Sorento. In other markets, the engine makes 202 PS and 440 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to the wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Other details about the brand new Carnival (including available colors, prices, and variants) will be revealed once the vehicle is launched two weeks from now. Until then, if you’re really interested in getting one, better contact your nearest dealership and reserve a unit.
