Save the date: Next-gen Mercedes-Benz GLC launches June 21, 2023

Remember when Mercedes-Benz revealed the all-new GLC last year? Well, it's on its way here to the Philippines, and we're only several weeks away from its grand debut.

Set to showcase its all-new features on June 21, 2023, is the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLC. Longer and more high-tech than its predecessor, the luxury crossover is out to hunt the likes of the BMW X3 and Audi Q5.

Official details and local specifications for the all-new GLC are not yet available. What we do know is that it now measures 4716mm long and 1640mm tall, which makes the GLC 60mm longer and 4mm shorter in height. The wheelbase has also been stretched by 15mm to 2888mm. Last but not least, the width remains the same at 1890mm.

In terms of style, the all-new GLC gets a new pair of LED headlights and taillights, a more aerodynamic roofline, a bolder front grille, and wheel sizes that will come in 18 to 20 inches. Inside, the interior of the GLC borrows inspiration from the C-Class. It's now available with a huge 12.3-inch tablet-inspired touchscreen at the center that's powered by the latest MBUX infotainment system.

The rest of the cabin sees the GLC get a larger digital instrument cluster, full-leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats with memory function, LED ambient lighting, intelligent voice control for the MBUX, and the optional Burmester surround sound system.

Engine options for the PH-spec GLC remain a mystery. However, we could get the 48V mild-hybrid engines. That means Mercedes-Benz Philippines could bring the GLC 200 and the GLC 220d. The former comes with a 2.0-liter turbo-gasoline that makes 204 PS with 320 Nm of torque, while the latter has a 2.0-liter turbo-diesel that puts out 197 PS and 440 Nm of torque. Both engines are then connected to a 9-speed automatic transmission.
