2024 Subaru Impreza to make its global reveal two weeks from now

Two months ago, we officially said hello to the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek. While we used to call it the XV in the Philippine market, that will not be the case anymore as Subaru has retired the name and will instead call it the Crosstrek globally.

Featuring a bold new look inside and out, the 2023 Crosstrek looks more aggressive, has the latest dashboard design, and has a host of new high-tech features. But where is the all-new Subaru Impreza from which the 2023 Crosstrek is based on?

At this year's Los Angeles Auto Show, Subaru will be revealing the all-new 2024 Impreza. This was confirmed by the automaker after they released a teaser photo of the next-generation vehicle ahead of the annual event.

Based on the lone teaser photo provided, the all-new Impreza will be introduced in hatchback form. Since the vehicle itself is still shrouded in mystery, it's hard to tell how it might look once the covers are off. Even with the help of photo manipulation, it seems Subaru did a good job of hiding the Impreza's new lines and look.

But a quick look at the Crosstrek's side profile and we won't be surprised if the all-new Impreza hatchback will have the same shape and roofline as the crossover. There are no photos yet available of the sedan version of the next-gen Impreza, but we won't be surprised if it will still come as a four-door.

No details regarding its powertrain were revealed. However, since it will likely share components with the all-new Crosstrek, it stands to reason it might get a 2.0-liter direct-injection e-Boxer mild-hybrid engine under the hood. With that, the 2024 Impreza could put out 156 PS and 196 Nm of torque along with 16.7 PS plus 66 Nm of torque from an electric motor. As before, a Lineatronic CVT will most likely send power to all four wheels via a Symmetrical AWD system.

With two weeks to go before the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show, we still have to wait before it's officially revealed. In the meantime, do you think the 2024 Impreza will look just like the all-new Crosstrek? And could it make its way back to the Philippine market?
