Aside from NAIAX, Skyway 3 will also increase speed limit
New 80 km/h speed limit will take effect on January 20, 2025

The NAIA Expressway (NAIAX) won't be the only toll road that will have a speed limit increase.
Starting January 20, 2025, SMC Infrastructure announced that Skyway 3 will be increasing its speed limit from 60 km/h to 80 km/h. That's right, just like NAIAX, the elevated toll road that connects Quezon City, Manila, and Makati will soon allow motorists to travel up to 80 km/h.
But just like NAIAX, SMC Infrastructure said that only the straight sections of the expressway will have the new 80 km/h speed limit. The curved portions, meanwhile, will continue to have the 60 km/h speed limit which will be strictly enforced.
“This is to maintain safety, as we do not want to put any motorists at risk of accidents due to miscalculation or oversteering, especially where there are sharp curves, given the limitations to the design of both the NAIAX and Skyway 3,” said Ramon S. Ang, CEO of San Miguel Corporation.
To ensure compliance from motorists, traffic enforcers will be put in place with radar guns to monitor speeds. Any motorist caught going over the limit will be apprehended and will have their driver's license confiscated. They will then be issued a temporary operator's permit.
“We appeal to our motorists to observe speed limits at our expressway facilities for the safety of all,” added Ang.
