A few weeks ago, Aston Martin declared they will continue making engines until regulators say stop. This comes after company CEO Lawrence Stroll shared with Autocar UK that there is more hype for EVs with Aston Martin customers.

Combined with the fact that the automaker claims that its customers still prefer internal combustion engines (ICEs), it's no wonder Aston Martin decided to delay its switch to EVs. And now, the Gaydon-based manufacturer has revealed the first images (details) of its new twelve-cylinder powerplant.

That's right, Aston Martin has built an improved V12 engine, and it comes with a pair of turbos. But wait a moment, doesn't Aston Martin used to have a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 for the DB11 and V12 Vantage? Well, while the older V12s can make up to 638 PS and 700 Nm of torque, the brand's latest 12-cylinder engine makes more power and torque.

Thanks to a complete redesign of the V12 engine along with plenty of optimizations and improvements, Aston Martin's new 12-cylinder creation makes 835 PS along with an impressive 1,000 Nm of pull. This was made possible thanks to key hardware revisions that include strengthened cylinder block & connecting rods, redesigned cylinder heads, reprofiled camshafts, and new intake & exhaust ports.

The spark plugs have also been repositioned while higher flowrate fuel injectors aim to deliver a more optimized combustion. Last but not least, new higher-speed turbochargers with lower inertia provide increased performance and throttle response.

“The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess. With 835PS and 1000Nm of torque this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin,” said Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin's Chief Technical Officer.

The new V12 powerplant will be featured across Aston Martin's most exclusive and limited-availability models. It will also serve as the brand's bold statement of offering luxurious and powerful engines that are handcrafted year by year in limited numbers.

It will be making its first appearance in a new flagship model that will debut later this year. While Aston Martin has yet to say what exactly that vehicle will be, they did mention that “All will be vanquished”.

Given that brand's statement, it looks like we can expect a new Vanquish to hit the roads very soon.
