AC Motors previews the BYD Atto 3 at 11th PH EV Summit
Ayala Corporation’s AC Motors is making strides to offer more EVs in the Philippine market. After announcing what’s in store at the 2023 Philippine EV Summit a few days ago, the automaker has officially previewed the Atto 3 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
Set to serve as the brand’s premier electric crossover SUV offering, the Atto 3 combines stylish looks, zero emissions mobility, and a wide array of standard amenities. Present during the preview of the Atto 3 included AC Motors Head Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and BYD CEO Toti Zara.
No exact specifications were revealed during its preview. However, according to Zara, the Atto 3 for PH will generate over 200 PS and more than 300 Nm of torque. In addition, it will be able to travel up to 480 km which means the PH-spec Atto 3 will likely come with the 63.8 kWH battery pack. More importantly, it will come with CCS2 (AKA Type II) charging. Size-wise, BYD the Atto 3 measures 4455mm long, 1875mm wide, 1615mm tall, and has a 2720mm wheelbase.
When it comes to recharging the EV, the Atto 3 for PH could come with a 7kW Type 2 AC charger that can fully recharge the crossover in around 8 to 8.5 hours. AC Motors currently has no plans to offer DC charging for the Atto 3.
When it comes to features, the Atto 3 may be fitted with the following; 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment, a 5-inch digital cluster, an 8-speaker sound system, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, a wireless charging pad, a panoramic sunroof, smart keyless entry, and even remote start.
Those interested in seeing the 2024 BYD Atto 3 can visit the 2023 Philippine EV Summit until Oct 21, 2023. AC Motors will launch the BYD Atto 3 sometime in November although no exact pricing has been revealed yet.
