Late last year, Spoon Sports brought back one of the most well-known wheels from the 90's: the SW388. Now Desmond Wheels, popularly known for their Regamaster wheel lineup, is doing the same by bringing back the popular Regamaster wheels.
At the 2018 Eibach Honda Meet held last May 6, Desmond Wheels suprisingly revealed the Regamaster Evo II at the ICB Motorsports booth. The new wheels were fitted on the FK8 Civic Type R, combining classic 90's style with a modern design.
Compared to the 90's Regamaster, the new Regamaster Evo II wheels now sport a slightly updated design, similar to the SW388. Most noticably, the newer specification of wheels can be ordered with a wider lip depending on the size. The iconic 5-spoke wheels can currently be had in either white or silver, much like the previous models. They also come with 'Desmond' and 'Regamaster Evo' stickers to complete its proper look.
Like the SW388, the new Regamaster Evo II are also aluminum forged wheels. They will also be made in Japan instead of Russia. In 18x9.5 sizing, Desmond says a wheel will only weigh around 8kg. Currently, there are only limited sizes available for the Regamaster Evo II. For now, the only available sizes are: 18x9.5 +45 in 5x120 PCD for the FK8, 18x9.5+ 45 in 5x114.3 PCD, or 18x10.5 +22 in 5x114.3 for R32-R34 GT-R and Lancer Evolution sizes. Other specifications are expected to be release in the future.
For those wondering, the 9.5-inch wide wheels will set you back 2,849 USD (Php 147,750) and the 10.5-inch wide variant costs 2,999 USD (Php155,529). That's without shipping.
So, will you be reliving the 90's by pre-ordering a set soon?
